I heard a quote along the lines of “On the way to the honey, expect to get stung by a few bees.” There will always be that “sweet” goal that you want to achieve and during your journey to reach it you may get stung a few times, but in the long run it’s worth it. Don’t let the little stings get you down or detour your direction. Don’t give up and walk away because your end goal could be so close. The stings will heal and will only make you stronger and wiser.
When I heard Sandra Yancey, the president of the e-Women Network, speak about success, one thing she said really stood out — “Never give up because you never know how close you are to getting what you want.” That resonated with me because so many times life throws you curve balls and you get “stung by the bees,” but then all of a sudden there is light at the end of the chaos and the world starts to open up for newer and better opportunities.
Embrace all that comes your way, and always respect others and work with integrity and honesty. Bring yourself to help your peers and help others along your same path because, as my favorite quote goes, “A candle loses none of its light by lighting another candle.” By harnessing these traits, your path to success will be very clear, and your candle will have the brightest shine!
Meeting new people will help you on your journey, so check out some of the events below:
