This fall it’s all about the pattern. Anything from animal print to plaidto polka dots. Crazy, right?! But definitely don’t overdo it.
Some fashion blogs talk about mixing prints, and I just don’t see the attraction of it. Quite frankly, I personally don’t see the hardcore plaid and polka dot either. Maybe one clothing item with the print, but not the whole shebang.
In the defense of the fashion trend blogs, the majority use these patterns in more of the classy sense rather than the trashy. They show lighter more neutral and earthy colors or solid black, so it’s not too bad.
But I have to say, the one trend I relate to is the animal print. For some reason I’ve always been attracted to it, everything from bold to classy catches my eye. Typically, I go for the animal print shoes in order to offset my solid color outfits.
Macy’s recently showcased great selection of leopard print shoes, everything from darker colors to lighter colors, so of course I had to buy a pair. I went with the newNine West Rocha Platform Pumps. Had too! Also, they run big so I got a half size smaller than normal which was awesome.
These shoes have all the components I love, from a patent leather bottom, a great texture to the main design and the red inner sole. Makes a great combo. They lookfab, and they are only $89 without coupon.
Then recently on Facebook a friend of mine, Laura Madsen, posted this really cool link to a Youtube video that gives you instructions on how to make animal print designs on your nails using nail polish. Looks so easy so I had to share! Check out this link:
Even bolder accessories are in. But like I always say, don’t wear popular designs just because they are in style. Wear what flatters your body the most. You can never go wrong in solid colors and wearing accessories that show your personality. Unless of course you try to bring back the whole shoulder pad look. That’s a whole other post!
Stay true to yourself and let your creativity shine!
