If there is one thing we know about Dru Hill frontman SisQo, it's that he loves thongs. But what you may not know, is that SisQo is back on the road touring with the band who made him famous in the late '90s.
The band recently headlined in Atlantic City at the House of Blues in the Showboat Casino Hotel, and NJ.com had the chance to chat with the group's lead singer about everything from his future plans to what he loves about A.C.
NJ.com: How does it feel to be in Atlantic City?
SisQo: I looove to be in Atlantic City. This is pretty much like an East Coast version of Vegas and I used to live in Vegas, so I'm right at home.
Do you think the night clubs here on the East Coast are better than the ones on the West Coast?
SisQo: Really, you're trying to get me with that one? It's like a blonde girl and a brunette girl. Both of them are sexy. It depends on your preference of the week.
Do you have any plans for a reality show?
SisQo: How did you know that? Did you know that? Well I'm actually working on one called 'SisQo Kid.' It's in production right now, so hopefully around summertime you can look out to see something. Keep an eye out.
What's your favorite place to hang out in Atlantic City? SisQo: My room had a great party. My parties are legendary, it's the party after the party.
How would you describe the style of your music?
SisQo: A little bit of pop culture, a little bit of hip-hop, a little bit of soul, and mix it all in with some rock & roll.
What advice would you give to an aspiring artist?
SisQo: Just be yourself. When I first came out, they didn't want me to die my hair blonder and now a lot of artists are dying their hair blonde and different other colors.
The Thong Song is still very popular, how does that make you feel?
SisQo: [he laughs] Awesome! I'm a thong guy. A good place to be is a heterosexual male.
Who are some of your favorite designers?
SisQo: I like a lot of the high-end stuff but H&M is cool for a chill night.
Any other advice you'd like to give our readers?
SisQo: If you're a musician, be yourself, follow your dreams and don't let anyone else tell you that you can't do it.
