Jodie Sweetin actress and television personality, best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the long running TV sitcom "Full House", hosted at The Pool After Dark and spoke to NJ.com about the show as well as her new TV movie airing on Christmas Eve.
NJ.COM: How cool is it to be here in Atlantic City and hosting the I Love 90s party?
SWEETIN: I'm super excited about it, it's actually my first time in Atlantic City. I had some friends come in from New York City so I'm really having a great time tonight.
That's awesome what's one favorite thing you've done so far while here?
SWEETIN: Oh, my god, we just went to an amazing dinner at Dos Caminos and it was super good. Then I did a little bit of gambling, but I suck. I played some slot machines but I can barely figure those out. I'm like, what is play 9 lines, like I don't know, max bet? So I'm terrible at gambling, [laughs] luckily I don't have that as a problem.
What's your favorite part of the 90s?
SWEETIN: Well the TV was amazing. Obviously there was Full House, but my favorite show was My So Called Life. That was my show, I could still watch that over and over again. Even though there was only like 12 or 15 episodes it was the best show ever.
Do you keep in touch with any of the characters from Full House?
SWEETIN: Oh yea, absolutely, I talk to Candice, I talk to Andrea, Bob, Dave, I mean we all stayed in really close contact. Actually, I just went to a dinner party at Jeff Franklin's the other night, he was the guy who created Full House, so yea we are all pretty close.
Do people still confuse you as Stephanie Tanner?
SWEETIN: Every once in awhile people will be talking to me and say, "So Steph", and I just kind of look at them and they don't get it. Then two seconds later they're like oh my g-d so sorry, and I'm like don't worry about it, it's fine.
Some fans want to know, did they teach you how to dance or were you always a dancer?
SWEETIN: I was always a dancer. I started dancing when I was like 3, and I don't know if you called what I did great dancing, but it was fun. It was 90s like recital dancing, but I loved it and the girls I danced with in the show were girls I actually trained with in the studio. So I danced outside the show and they sort of incorporated that as part of the character for Stephanie.
That's cool, what's in store for your future?
SWEETIN: I'm working on a couple projects right now, some big fun things in the works that I can't talk about, but I also just did a movie called Defending Santa that's airing on Ion television this whole month of December and will be on Christmas Eve as well. I'm still doing some movie of the week stuff. But I'm a mom of 2 kids, so that's my full time job being a mommy.
