Scary Spice and America's Got Talent judge, Mel B., performed her new single "For Once in My Life" at the Harrah's Pool After Dark. Prior to hitting the stage, she spoke with NJ.com about everything from a Spice Girls reunion to having a well balanced life.
NJ.COM: Welcome back to the Pool After Dark in Atlantic City.
MEL B: I know, I can't stop coming here, are you kidding me.
What’s your favorite thing to do when here in Atlantic City?
MEL B: Well obviously gambling, I'm having a good old time with my friends so why not.
That’s cool, what do you like to play?
MEL B: Well I’m not very good at it, but I play roulette and black jack. I haven’t really won that much to be honest. Ever [laughs]
Everyone wants to know if you are having a Spice Girls reunion?
MEL B: Oh I would love that, I am always saying that, but I’ve got to get the other four to agree. So hopefully fingers crossed we will see.
So what’s it like being a judge on America’s Got Talent?
MEL B: It’s so much fun between Heidi and Howard Stern and Howie Mandel we have an absolute ball, we really do.
Talk to us about balancing your life. Your a mom, a radio personality, a TV judge and a performer, how do balance all of that?
MEL B: Well I’m just like every working mom. You just have to make it work, and not every week do you get it right. First and foremost my family comes first, so I kind of work around my family. And America’s Got Talent films when the kids are off school, so they get to come to New York with me about every single week so it works out good.
Recently you asked your twitter followers for some healthy recipe ideas, what did you wind up making that was healthy and yummy?
MEL B: Well I settled on some salmon with some fennel and some dill and some herbs cooked in tin foil. Baked. Yea it was very good actually. And I’m not that much of a good cook. It’s really my husband that does it, so I am very proud of myself that I actually achieved that.
What can we look forward to in your future? I know you were recently in a Lifetime movie during Christmas time, do you have any movies or music coming out?
MEL B: I am back in the studio writing more music and I’m actually going out for more auditions for acting and movies and stuff like that so we will see.
