Not even a knee injury could keep Brody Jenner away from spinning tunes in Atlantic City.
Just before putting on a guest DJ hat at Harrah's The Pool After Dark, Brody Jenner chatted with NJ.com and dispelled the rumors of him not returning to Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
NJ.COM: Welcome back to the Pool After Dark how excited are you to be here?
JENNER: Well I’m back so obviously I am excited [smiles].
What happened to your knee are you healing ok?
JENNER: Yes I am healing ok, It’s been three weeks but it's feeling a little better. I broke it snowboarding. Whatever, it’s bound to happen. I’ve grown up snowboarding my whole life and never had an injury like this. Let’s just say I haven’t been able to do the things I want to do daily, but besides that, it will heal. It could've been worse actually. I thought I tore my MCL and ACL and all that, but I didn’t. I didn’t know that getting the news of fracturing your knee was actually good news.
You always look at the positive in things, and are so down to earth, how do you stay so positive?
JENNER: Oh man, because life is beautiful. I mean every day that you are here and alive, like look at what just happened with this Malaysian airlines, it’s like you never know. You could get on a plane coming to Atlantic City and it could all be over on that plane ride. At the end of the day, I look at every day I am alive is a good day. And I always think of it like regardless of what is happening in my life, whether it be good or bad, I try to look at what else is going on in other people’s lives. If I think I’m having a really bad day, I think about someone else who is having a much worse day and it makes me feel better, so I stay positive and I continue to live my life like that, and it works out...You gotta stay positive always.
And you have two new dogs now, how are they?
JENNER: Oh they are the loves of my life. They are very special. I’ve been waiting to have two dogs of my own, or just one I was going to get, but I couldn’t resist it, I saw his brother and I was like, ah. The most ironic thing is that their dad is named Brody, and I didn’t even know until I picked them up. They were like, oh this is their dad, his name is Brody, do you think that’s weird? I just went wow, it was meant to be.
You have a lot going on in your life going on right now, and it is said that you are not going to be on the next season of Keeping up with the Kardashians. Do you have anything in the works, like a reality show?
JENNER: Well...whatever information you got is false...I actually did read that and it said that Brody and his brother don’t want to come back. I read that all and it’s not true. I mean we’re already [pause] I’m going to Thailand [oops maybe I shouldn’t say that out loud], but we’ve already shot a little bit and I’ve already been on one. There’s just been some times where I’m super busy and...that’s the Kardashian show. You know, that’s their show and I respect that, and I love them and I know that that’s theirs, so I am doing my own things... I’ve got other projects. I’m doing a podcast coming up soon that you have to look out for with Dr. Mike Dow.
What’s it called?
JENNER: We haven’t really come up with it, right now we are working on the titles. But we’re working with Podcast1 and Mike Dow. Do you know who he is? He does a lot of stuff with The View and is like a younger Dr. Drew basically...It’s him and I talking about relationship issues and girl stuff, it’s a podcast, and that’s what I’m really excited about. So I’ll be focusing a lot of my time on that. And then with the Kardashians I will be on season 9B. You know they do all these things now, it’s 9A, 9B, I wish it was just 9...but it’s to the networks benefit obviously.
What’s one of the biggest misconceptions about you?
JENNER: Umm, spoiled without appreciation. I think it’s ok in life to be spoiled, but the most important thing about being spoiled, everyone will say you’ve been raised your whole life with a family who has money. Yes that is true, but I made my own money as well. I think the most important thing, being from a fortunate family where you are able to have those benefits of traveling and doing the things you do and having money, is being taught the responsibility that comes along with that and giving back. I’m a big believer of charity and giving back, and I’m a big part of St.Judes hospital. I give back as much as I possibly can. I was taught to know that the world that I live in is not the real world. It’s so small in relation to what else is going on in the world. So I would say spoiled without appreciation, because people will say that, but they don’t know that I really do appreciate it. I try to show it as much as possible.
Last question that your fans want to know, how do you feel about Jersey girls?
JENNER:...Jersey girls are the best. I mean they are fun, they are cool, I don’t really know how to elaborate on it more than that but Jersey girls are amazing.
